The Stryker Company was founded with the idea that power comes through prosperity and strength. These lofty ideals set the tone for our organization but as is often the case, bring with them a certain responsibility - one which could result in failure if ignored. These responsibilities are laid out as rules which all members are expected to adhere too. They are by no means meant to be stringent and repressive, nor are they designed to be "fair", "moral", or "ethical". They are simply a standard of conduct which we as members find to provide a smooth and peaceful way of life for our members. With that said, any member who finds they are unable to adhere to these standards as follows is free to leave at any time, and leadership is free to exercise their ability to remove a member should it be determined that these rules have been violated or ignored.
1. Our members are honest in their dealings both with one another and in the community.
We do not lie, cheat, or deceive. We keep our promises to one another and to those outside our organization. No member of this Company or the rest of Eorzea should ever be given cause to doubt our integrity.
2. Our members treat all adventurers in Eorzea, both inside the Company and out, with respect.
Members are expected to be respectful. This means personal attacks, smack talk, abuse, disparaging remarks, and ridicule are not tolerated among our members. Spamming chat channels also falls under this category as disallowed. Also, property rights of others are to be respected. This includes the contents and gil of the Company Chest which shall remain in possession of the Company. Corporate theft will be dealt with harshly in this regard.
3. Our members keep all communication channels free of inappropriate content.
We understand the frustration that results from dying during a quest, or being placed with inept party members while raiding. While we will tolerate mild profanity on occasion, it is neither required nor expected in common usage. Sexual or off-color chat is to be avoided at all times.
Falling under this category are further explanations and a few exceptions. We understand that members may wish to express themselves in various ways while playing. We want to allow for these expressions but in a controlled setting. For this reason, a player is permitted to setup a linkshell for things such as drunken raids where appropriate speech can be temporarily suspended. However, all members of the linkshell MUST agree to this understanding, AND it must be understood that this exception is to be an "exception" not the "rule". With that said, the following are not permitted in public chat channels but may be suspended in private linkshells:
a) Divisive topics such as real-world religion and politics
b) Profanity
c) Sexual Content
d) Personal attacks or derogatory statements
The following are never allowed, no matter the circumstance or group:
a) Sexually explicit speech
b) Racism
c) Sexism
d) Hate speech
Our leadership will be the final arbiter of what is permitted and these guidelines may change at any time.
4. Our members do not exploit or otherwise violate the Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn EULA or the Materials Usage Agreement.
Actions which violate the EULA (End User License Agreement) or Materials Usage Agreement as set by Square-Enix are prohibited. Examples of these are account sharing and purchasing of in-game Gil or in-game items or services (such as EXP training) for real money. Any person discovered to have engaged in actions forbidden in these agreements will be immediately removed from the Company and blacklisted. If a member has inadvertently broken one of these agreements they are encouraged to attempt a resolution through petitioning Square-Enix through the normal channels. Similarly, if any member suspects another player of violating these agreements they are encouraged to submit a petition through the in-game reporting feature and NOT to take any action in-game.
5. Our members are free to make their own choices.
The Company does not require our members to live in certain cities and they may choose their own play times. They are free to pursue any class of their choosing and may set their own pace in pursuit of their own personal goals and may choose to participate in scheduled and unscheduled events at their leisure (provided their actions do not violate the aforementioned policies).
6. Our members are encouraged to balance "self" with "service".
Upon joining the Company, it would be normal for members to focus on advancing their characters in-game, following the main scenario, and just generally doing as they please. As they increase in skills and knowledge they may find the ability to contribute more to our organization as they are able.
Consequences for Failure to Adhere
Failure to follow any of the above may result in one or more of the following:
a) An unpleasant chat with a senior member of the Company.
b) Demotion
c) Suspension pending investigation
d) Expulsion from the Company
Any questions regarding any of these rules should be directed to an available Director or Officer.
